Acupuncture

Traditional Chinese medicine proposes that, in a healthy body, QI (energy) flows via special channels (meridians). In the unhealthy state, this flow is interrupted. However, this can be corrected by the appropriate insertion of needles. Acupuncture can be used to treat acute and chronic muscle and joint injuries, back and neck pain, sciatica and sports injuries. The points are usually stimulated by the insertion of very fine, sterile needles but laser, electro-acupuncture, or acupressure may also be used.

Modern research shows that acupuncture stimulates the brain via the nerves in the skin and muscle, and this stimulates the body’s healing and pain relieving chemicals.

Acupuncture and Physiotherapy are often used together to treat conditions. At Caboolture Physical Therapy Centre, we have a qualified Chinese Acupuncturist – Rose – who works alongside our Physiotherapists to provide the best possible outcome for our clients.
