There are times when either Medical or Physiotherapy treatment may not always resolve an injury, in which case you can find yourself under the knife of one of our esteemed local Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Following surgery, it is recommended that patients participate in a course of Physiotherapy to ensure optimal post-surgical rehabilitation. The duration of treatment is dependent on individual response to surgery, but can usually be estimated at around 4-10 sessions.

The Physio’s at Caboolture Physical Therapy are very experienced in Post-surgical rehabilitation and are; in fact, a preferred provider for a number of reputable specialists in the area.

Your Initial visit, often two weeks post-surgery, would consist of a functional assessment and would usually entail your therapist passively moving the affected area to begin restoring a normal range of motion (ROM).You are likely to be prescribed an exercise program to continue at home to increase ROM, as well as; depending on joint stiffness, a follow up treatment soon after.

A perfect post-surgical presentation may only require you to follow up with your Physiotherapist at 2– 4 weekly intervals, for progress assessment and to advance to the next stage of home exercises.
Physiotherapy treatment post-surgery will ensure that your rehabilitation will progress at an optimal rate, enabling a return to normal activities as soon as possible and in the best way possible.
